Fadaat Media Raises Breast Cancer Awareness
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Qatar, it accounts for 39% of cancer cases in women.
Health Educator "Nour Makkia", emphasized on the importance of early detection through mammogram, in order to obtain the best possible treatment and increase chances of survival to 98%. She recommended having the mammogram done every 3 years.
Makkia pointed out the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, through eating healthy food, exercising, avoiding smoking and alcohol consumption, reducing the use of hormonal therapies, breastfeeding, genetic testing and preventive surgeries.
"Qatar cancer society" is a non- profit humanitarian charity, that seeks to prevent cancer and mitigate its impact by working to educate the community, and to support, empower and advocate for those living with the disease. It also provides financial support for treatment, as well as psychosocial support for disease survivors and their families.
